Pre-Primary (2-4-years)

Our Pre-Primary program exposes children ages 2-4 to the self-directed and independent learning skills they’ll rely on in the coming years. We’ve created a program that strikes the perfect balance between support and comfort for those with emerging skills and challenges to keep your child growing and learning.

Some activities and areas covered in this Montessori class include:

  • Practical Life Skills: self-care and home care skills that will last a lifetime
  • Sensorial work: these materials encourage children to explore the world using all of their senses while developing fine motor skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Language and communication builders: stories, songs, and language materials are designed to build strong communication skills and language development
  • Early math and critical thinking skills: counting, matching, sorting and other skills designed to help even young children learn about math concepts and build a foundation for the more advanced work in the Primary classroom.
  • Science and nature exploration: exploring the natural world is at the heart of the Montessori method; your child will learn about the seasons, plants and animals via time spent outdoors and various materials in the classroom.
  • Hands on art experiences: the process, not the end product, is at the heart of our creative and flexible art curriculum.

All of our classrooms and programs are designed to offer enhanced learning opportunities and to teach the independent thinking skills and exploration that will help your child succeed in the future.

*The Pre-Primary program does NOT require that your child be potty trained.
